The Great Coming Together Series I - Botz

With the first work in this series, Botz uses brass rubbings, acrylics and collage to portray some of the new found cultures that are part of her DNA. She uses copies of ancestral documents such as a piece of poetry written by her great grandfather and fragments of ancient Arabic manuscripts. Botz says, ‘I want to present an image that represents the conflicting emotions I have about my newly discovered genetic make-up, but also shows how my mixed heritage co-exists naturally within me. I guess it’s a continual push/pull tension between acceptance of a new normal whilst remembering an old identity and working out how it all fits together.’

Shipping Policy

Items couriered within New Zealand should be delivered to you within 5 – 10 working days.  However, if the product is not in stock we will let you know immediately, and advise on availability and delivery. 

Online orders are dispatched Monday to Friday, and if received before 12 noon, will be sent that day. There may be some delay with public holidays. 

For our more valuable artworks, we use a specialist artwork courier, Pack and Send, to pack and freight the art.

All items are tracked and once the order has been collected by our courier, you’ll be advised by us of your track and trace number. Protean Art uses a signature required courier service for all orders. Should no one be present at the premises to sign for the parcel, a card will be left and the parcel will be available for collection as stated on the calling card.
