Nelson artist | Painting and Mixed Media

Botz artwork is inspired by her newly discovered mixed heritage and her birth story. Her mixed media work focuses on the joy and confusion of discovering new cultures that are part of her DNA, and the fractured and ever-evolving nature of her identity. Her work also explores the triad of loss that encompasses the adoption experience for the birth mother, adoptive mother and birth child.

Botz background is in education, the arts and small business. Her qualifications include an Honours degree in Theatre, English and Film, Post Graduate qualifications in Arts and Education, and a Certificate in Art and Design from Whitecliffe College of Arts and Design. Botz is the joint owner and Gallery Director at Protean Art.
