Emma Sturgess-Panting

Tasman Artist | Painting

An Artist and full-time Art Educator, living and working in the Tasman region, Emma is currently an Art Specialist teacher at Waimea Intermediate School and regularly leads additional workshops and courses for adults. Emma has exhibited her work in joint and solo exhibitions throughout NZ including The Pah Homestead and Pataka Art and Museum. She has been selected for national touring exhibitions with the NZ Portrait Gallery, The Molly Morpeth Awards, and the NZ Painting and Printmaking Awards.

Emma’s new work examines a collection of imagined portraits, a ‘Troupe’ of performers with ‘Other-Worldly’ gifts. Her work is often suggestive of the past, often ethereal, sometimes whimsical, carefully balanced on the edge of dreams and the imagination.
